Glasgow Caledonian University (UK)
My name is Rose Cawood, I am the Social Innovation Manager in the Research and Innovation Office at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am responsible for promoting and growing Social Innovation culture, ideas and collaborations at and outside of GCU and I also manage a number of European Projects in Social Innovation. I coordinate the SIKE project. My name is Mark Majewsky Anderson and I am the Director of Research and Innovation at Glasgow Caledonian University. I have helped to embed social innovation as a core part of GCU’s mission. I oversee GCU’s academics in the development of proposals and management of projects, and coordinates several EU funded international projects. I am non-executive director of the Edinburgh social innovation incubator, the Melting Pot, and also a member of the Social Innovation Exchange Global Council. My name is Fiona Henderson. I am a researcher in social innovation, the social economy and social care. I am also the GCU Principal Investigator on the Atlantic Social Lab which develops and promotes social innovations in response to growing societal challenges in welfare, public engagement, the green inclusive economy and social responsibility in the private sector. I am a researcher with GCU and I work on the SIKE Project as an academic. My name is Siobhan Doyle. I am the European Projects Manager in the Research and Innovation Office at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am responsible for a number of projects that GCU coordinates and collaborates on and I am responsible for making sure that the project runs smoothly until it finishes. My name is Natalia Popielska. I am the European Projects Officer in the Research and Innovation Office at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am responsible for monitoring and keeping a record of project activities. I work closely with EU projects and consortium partners to ensure timely reporting, effective administration and robust compliance in line with EU programme guidelines.
Business Innovation Brokers S. Coop
Javier Finez is researcher in the department of Social Innovation at BiB. He has expertise in project management & the use of evaluation tools and methods for innovation. He has been leading several Grundtvig Partnerrships over las 4 years as ell as LdV proposals. Skills include integrated entrepreneurial start-up support and training; strengths & weaknesses of current existing innovation systems, inclusive educational promotion and sensitivity towards needs of social excluded groups. In the SIKE project Javier acts as Project Leader. Inigo Urkidi works at Social Innovation Department in BiB and is MSc in Humanity and Enterprise by University of Deusto where is working on his Doctoral Thesis on “Social Innovation: Cooperative entrepreneurship with disadvantaged collectives. At the same time, he is a professor at the University in the area of Innovation and Knowledge Management.
Santa Casa Misericordia de Lisboa (PT)
Gustavo Freitas works as Social Innovation Manager at Santa Casa Misericordia de Lisboa since 2012. He has been responsible for the design and development of methodologies and social innovation tools. He also has designed and managed social entrepreneurship programs and European projects. Master in Psychology and accredited specialist in Social and Community Psychology, he developed scientific research and lectured at several Higher Education Institutions. He is also an accredited trainer and has a long experience as Training Manager in post graduate and training courses.
VERN’ University of Applied Sciences
Tea is Project Manager at VERN’ University of Applied Sciences with experienced and demonstrated history of working in higher education industry. She has bachelor in Entrepreneurship Economics, Masters in Business Communication focused in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communication and MBA in European She has been working at the Project Department at VERN’ University of Applied Sciences since 2014. In addition to supporting University’s academics in the development of proposals and management of projects, Tea has been involved in several projects including EU funded projects on the behalf of the University under Erasmus+, ESF and IPA programs focused on social innovation, brain drain, apprenticeships and connecting the higher education with labor market and better implementation of triple helix. Currently Tea is coordinating 5 project and is responsible for preparation of future project that are in line with VERN’s strategy.
University of Deusto
Roberta Vicente is the Project Officer of SIKE Project at the University of Deusto, in Bilbao. She works at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit since 2018. Within the team, she is in charge of designing and managing training workshops on design thinking, entrepreneurship and social innovation. She also designs and leads events, communication and marketing actions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within Deusto community. Graduated on Modern Languages and Business Management (B.A.) she holds a Dual Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship in Action from the University of Deusto. Carmen Sánchez thrives and fosters social innovation projects at University of Deusto among students and society itself. She has a Master´s Degree in Innovation & Knowledge management and previously has worked for the Regional Goverment of Biscay, Basque Government, Bilbao Town Council and several universities in areas such as management, innovation, communication and entrepreneurship. Let´s change the world together! PhD in Sociology, Garbiñe Henry has been since 2010 the Head of Deusto Social Innovation Unit. On September 2017, she became the head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the University of Deusto. Her leitmotif is “new values and attitudes to a changing world. BA in Political Science and Sociology by the University of Deusto and Master in Management and Business Administration. Previously, and for eleven years, she held leading and management positions in consulting firms. She is an expert on social innovation, corporate social responsibility, urban and regional development, social, economic and environmental, sectorial strategies, strategic planning and innovation, energy strategy, health, tourism plans, mobility and transport, dashboards, in the field of public administration and private enterprise issues.
The Melting Pot
Claire is the award-winning Founder and CEO of The Melting Pot and a global pioneer of coworking. Claire leads the strategic direction of The Melting Pot, including Good Ideas and the Coworking Accelerator Network. Good Ideas Coordinator Julie is passionate about working with people, learning their stories, and collaborating with them to connect with others. As a communications and events specialist she works with entrepreneurs and social innovators to develop their impact. Julie coordinates Good Ideas and is the glue that holds it all together. Good Ideas Facilitator Joe has worked with around 300 entrepreneurs over the last 5 years, from idea stage through to seven figure turnover businesses. He is passionate about the power that entrepreneurship has to make us a world leader in sustainability, equality of opportunity and global impact. “Scotland is uniquely positioned because of our talent pool, cultural connectivity and dedicated people to create something incredible, we just need to put the right people together at the right time. I’m proud to be playing a part in that as a member of the Good Ideas team and helping the next wave of social entrepreneurs to explore their ideas.” Good Ideas Facilitator Helen has worked extensively across the UK and Internationally, facilitating group and individual learning. She has worked across the Third and Public Sector for over 20 years in a range of leadership positions. She is passionate about working with organisations that are seeking to make societal change and brings her expertise in this area to support start ups through to larger organisations as they explore their impact. She is an energetic and skilled facilitator, ensuring that she brings the best out in the individuals or groups she is working with. When she isn’t busy working she can be found aboard her narrowboat on the Edinburgh canals or up a mountain!
Social Impact
NOBERT KUNZ SOCIAL IMPACT GGMBH CEO, ASHOKA FELLOW Norbert Kunz is one of the most distinguished Social Entrepreneurs in Germany. He has been consulting and supporting entrepreneurs in their founding process for over 20 years. With this and by co-founding several organizations, he has been significantly contributing to the development of social innovation. Norbert Kunz has received the German Federal Cross of Merit. He is board member, advisory board member and member of several associations and institutes like the OECD working group on inclusive entrepreneurship, the European Commission expert group on Social Business and the Advisory Council of small and medium-sized businesses of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Florian leads the international activities of Social Impact. In particular, Florian has been involved in European education and consulting programmes related to social innovation and social entrepreneurship for various private and public stakeholders. In his work, he loves to be inspired and enjoys creating joyful and innovative learning experiences for everyone interested in supporting their communities.
Social Innovation Exchange (UK)
Darren Mew is the Communications and Engagement Coordinator at SIX and helps communicate and disseminate the SIKE project online and offline. Darren will focus on building the communications and profile of SIX, as well as, shedding light on social innovation and our projects within it. An experienced communications manager, Darren has worked within communications for multiple organisations and non-profits like Kaleidoscope Trust, National Student Pride and Pride in London. Focusing on diversity and inclusion, Darren has led and developed communication strategies that are open and multifaceted. Darren has a Master’s Degree in Digital Media from Goldsmiths University and has a 2:1 in Creative Writing and English Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. So Jung is the COO at SIX and is currently exploring with the team on how we shift towards a more reflective, learning organisation. So Jung has been part of SIX team for the last 6 years, primarily building SIX’s work in challenging universities to rethink their purpose, and is currently leading an EU project connecting research and practice, SCALINGS. She has also led SIX’s work in building social innovation network in Asia and Latin America and has focused on developing and running capacity-building programmes. So Jung has an MSc in Social Policy and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
TU Dortmund University
Sabrina Janz is researcher in the field of social innovation at the Social Research Centre (sfs) of TU Dortmund University. She has obtained her MA in Rehabilitation Sciences and currently she works in two Erasmus+ projects concerning social innovation in academia: “Students4Change: Social Entrepreneurship in Academia” (https://www.uestudents4change.org/home) and “Social Innovation through Knowledge Exchange (SIKE)”. Adrian Götting is a research assistant at the Social Research Centre (sfs) of TU Dortmund University. He currently does his MA in Sociology and works in the Erasmus + project “Social Innovation through Knowledge Exchange (SIKE)” and in the project “Beyond 4.0: Inclusive Futures for Europe beyond the Impacts of Industrie 4.0 and Digital Disruption” (http://beyond4-0.eu/).
Social Innovation Lab EU
Mirna is President of the Social Innovation Lab (SIL) but also acts as a Project Manager of SIKE. Mirna has over twenty-five years of experience in international, regional and local development from her Masters degree at Columbia University to her work at the United States, Croatia and the broader South-east Europe region. She established Social Innovation Lab in 2011 with a goal to promote, map and support the development of social innovation in the region. SIL has grown into an important organization providing support to social innovators but also working in the areas of research, education and policy integration of SI. Since its inception, Mirna and SIL have helped develop and implement multiple projects supporting SI growth in Croatia and the EU as a whole. She is also an experienced moderator, trainer and facilitator that connects various sectors and builds partnerships.
